By disrupting actin polymerization, blocks diverse cellular functions, including cell division, migration, phagocytosis, exocytosis and chemotaxis. Induces DNA fragmentation. Used in cytoskeletal reorganization, cell imaging and organelle trafficking studies. Potent antitumor activity. Causes cell cycle arrest and induces apoptosis in cancer cells.
