It acts as a reactant for synthesis of γ -Monofluorinated goniothalamin analogs via ring-opening hydrofluorination, stilbenoid derivatives with neuroprotective activity, resveratrol-chroman hybrids with antioxidant activity, Oligostilbenoids using regioselective cyclodehydration and arylation.
