Invitrogen™'s Alexa Fluor 430 streptavidin conjugate is a bright, green-fluorescent probe (absorption/emission maxima ∼434/539 nm). Streptavidin, a nonglycosylated biotin-binding protein with a near-neutral isoelectric point, reportedly exhibits less nonspecific binding than avidin.
