Silencer™ Select MALAT1 Positive Control siRNA is extensively validated and an ideal control for many aspects of an siRNA experiment. 5 nmol is provided.

Silencer™ Select MALAT1 Positive Control siRNA is extensively validated and an ideal control for many aspects of an siRNA experiment. 5 nmol is provided.

  • Premium-quality siRNA, highly purified and ready to use
  • Functionally tested in several common cell lines
  • Include Silencer™ Select modifications for enhanced specificity
  • For use in human, mouse, and rat cells

What are Silencer™ Select siRNAs

Silencer™ Select siRNAs incorporate the latest improvements in siRNA design, off-target effect prediction algorithms, and chemical modifications, to yield siRNAs with unrivalled efficacy, potency, and specificity. The result is fewer failed experiments due to poor silencing, and cleaner, more consistent phenotypic data.

Silencer™ Select MALAT1 Positive Control siRNA

The Silencer™ MALAT1 positive control is extensively validated and an ideal 'test' siRNA for those just beginning siRNA experiments, because it is validated to work in multiple cell lines. Because it targets MALAT1 mRNA, many assays are available to measure its effects, including real-time RT-PCR.

Quality Control:

Silencer™ Select siRNAs are manufactured in a state-of-the-art facility under the highest quality standards. Rigorous quality control procedures include MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry analysis and analytical HPLC to monitor purity. Each siRNA is also assessed by gel electrophoresis to confirm that the strands anneal properly.

Accessory Product: siPORT™ NeoFX™ Transfection Agent (SKU #AM4510 and #AM4511)

siPORT™ NeoFX™ Transfection Agent is a versatile, lipid-based transfection agent for the efficient transfection of siRNA into cultured cells. The protocol can be adapted to a wide range of cells and experimental designs, including high-throughput applications.

Silencer™ Select siRNA controls have specific chemical modifications; they are designed to be used with Silencer™ Select siRNAs. If you are using other siRNA products, such as BLOCK-iT™ siRNAs, Ambion™ Silencer™ siRNAs, or STEALTH RNAi™ siRNAs, we recommend that you use control siRNAs designed for use with those siRNAs for more reliable experimental results.

Lipofectamine™ RNAiMAX™ Transfection Reagent (SKU 13778075)

Lipofectamine™ RNAiMAX™ Transfection Reagent is a leading transfection reagent designed specifically for RNA interference applications. The protocol can be adapted to a wide range of cells and experimental designs, including high-throughput applications. Silencer Select siRNA controls have specific chemical modifications that are designed to be used with Silencer Select siRNAs. If you are using other siRNA products, such as Silencer siRNA or Stealth RNAi siRNAs, we recommend that you use control siRNAs designed for use with those siRNAs for more reliable experimental results.

Is there a positive control for siRNA which target non-coding RNA? How about a negative control?

We do have a positive control siRNA targeting MALAT-1, which is a ncRNA localized mostly in the nucleus (Cat. No. 4455877). Silencer Select Negative Controls #1 and 2 can be used as the negative controls.

How critical is it to include positive and negative controls in siRNA experiments?

A positive control siRNA such as the Silencer Select GAPDH siRNA will demonstrate efficient transfection and help to optimize transfection conditions. A negative control siRNA is necessary to serve as a baseline for gene expression.

What are the positive and negative controls I should use with my Silencer or Silencer Select siRNA experiment?

We offer several negative and positive controls for both Silencer and Silencer Select siRNA.

For Silencer siRNA positive control:
- Silencer Firefly Luciferase (GL2 + GL3) siRNA (Cat. No. AM4629, 5nmol)
- Silencer GAPDH siRNA (human) (Cat. No AM4605, 5nmol; AM4633, 40 nmol)
- Silencer GAPDH siRNA (human, mouse, rat) (Cat. No. AM4624, 5 nmol; AM4631, 40 nmol; AM4632, 5 x 40 nmol)
- Silencer GFP (eGFP) siRNA (Cat. No. AM4626, 5 nmol)
- Silencer KIF11 (Eg5) siRNA (human, mouse, rat) (Cat. No. AM4639, 5 nmol)

If working with Fluorescently labeled Silencer siRNA:
- Silencer Cy-3 labeled GAPDH siRNA (human, mouse, rat) (Cat. No. AM4649, 5 nmol)
- Silencer FAM-labeled GAPDH siRNA (human, mouse, rat) (Cat. NO. AM4650, 5 nmol)

If working with Silencer siRNA in vivo ready:
