Description
A suggested positive control for immunohistochemical applications is brain. In Western blot, a doublet at ~65/67 kDa has been observed. Rabbit anti Glutamate Decarboxylase 1/2 antibody recognizes both molecular forms of glutamate decarboxylase, GAD1 (GAD67) and GAD2 (GAD65), the enzyme which converts glutamic acid to gamma -aminobutyric acid (GABA), the major inhibitory transmitter in the higher brain region.
