Cross reactivity can be a problem w/ primary antibodies sourced from animal species that are evolutionary closely related to the source of tissues or cells that antigens are to be detected in. When mouse & rat monoclonal antibodies are used in tissue of rat or mouse, cross reactivity can lead to false positive results. A second problem from cross-reactivity is double labeling. Aurions conjugates use secondary antibodies thoroughly purified by a solid phase technique. This allows detection of antigens w/ mouse monoclonal antibodies in rat tissue or rat monoclonal antibodies in mouse tissue, without interfering binding to either endogenous mouse or rat immunoglobulins. The antibodies can be used for double labeling & w/ other tissue. Note: Cross adsorption against closely related species may result in epitope recognition w/ reduced binding force & lower labeling density. Strongest labeling intensity is usually achieved w/ least refined antibodies.
Particle size: EM-grade 10 nm
