MA5-12446 targets Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) in IHC (P) applications and shows reactivity with Virus samples. The MA5-12446 immunogen is alkaline disrupted HPV type 1.

Papillomaviruses are a diverse group of DNA-based viruses that infect the skin and mucous membranes of humans and a variety of animals. 100 different HPV types have been identified to date. Various types of HPV may cause warts while others may cause a subclinical infection resulting in precancerous lesions. All HPVs are transmitted by skin-to-skin contact.
