Recombinant Protein

CCL3 (human) Recombinant Protein, RP-8654, from Invitrogen.

Macrophage Inflammatory Protein-1 alpha (MIP-1alpha), also known as CCL3, is produced by macrophages and is thought to induce inflammatory responses, including superoxide production by neutrophils. MIP-1alpha can exist as a naturally occurring heterodimer with MIP-1beta and has been shown to have antiviral activity against HSV-1. Recombinant human MIP-1alpha is a non-glycosylated protein, containing 70 amino acids, with a molecular weight of 7.8 kDa. Purity is typically greater than 97% and endotoxin level less than 1 EU/ug. The expected biological activity (ED50) is determined by the ability to chemoattract human PBMCs or THP-1 cells and is typically in the range of 0.5-8 ng/mL. The specific activity of this protein is 2x10^6 units/mg. Reconstitute using sterile water at 0.1mg/mL and centrifuge prior to opening vial. Gently pipet solution down the sides of the vial. DO NOT VORTEX sample. Store reconstituted material at -20°C and add 0.1% BSA for additional stability. Amino acid sequence: ASLAADTPTA CCFSYTSRQI PQNFIADYFE TSSQCSKPGV IFLTKRSRQV CADPSEEWVQ KYVSDLELSA.
