GDNF (human) Recombinant Protein, RP-8602, from Invitrogen.

Glial Cell Line-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (GDNF) is a neurotrophic factor that is closely related to other neurotrophic factors, such as Neurturin, Persephin, and Artemin, by a common structural feature called the cysteine-knot. GDNF signals through a multicomponent system of receptors that includes RET and GFRalpha1-4, to promote dopamine uptake, survival and differentiation of neurons. Recombinant human GDNF is a non-glycosylated homodimer, containing two 135 amino acid chains, with a total molecular weight of 30.4 kDa. Purity is typically greater than 98% and endotoxin level less than 1 EU/ug. The expected biological activity (ED50) is determined by the dose-dependent proliferation of C6 cells and is typically 0.5-5 ug/mL. The specific activity of this protein is 2x10^3 units/mg. Reconstitute using sterile water at 0.1mg/mL and centrifuge prior to opening vial. Gently pipet solution down the sides of the vial. DO NOT VORTEX sample. Store reconstituted material at -20°C and add 0.1% BSA for additional stability.
