AA Sequence of recombinant protein: PTSSSTSSST AEAQQQQQQQ QQQQQHLEQL LMDLQELLSR MENYRNLKLP RMLTFKFYLP KQATELKDLQ CLEDELGPLR HVLDLTQSKS FQLEDAENFI SNIRVTVVKL KGSDNTFECQ FDDESATVVD FLRRWIAFCQ SIISTSPQ. Preparation: Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Murine IL-2. Anti-Murine IL-2-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Murine IL-2 matrix. Sandwich ELISA: To detect Murine IL-2 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5-2.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Murine IL-2 (500-P111Bt) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Murine IL-2. Western Blot: To detect Murine IL-2 by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1-0.2 μg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for Recombinant Murine IL-2 is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
Interleukin 2 (IL-2) is an immuno-modulatory cytokine that is important for the proliferation of activated T cells, differentiation of B cells, natural killer cells, monocytes and macrophages. IL-2 signals through the IL-2 receptor (IL-2R), a heterotrimeric protein complex whose gamma chain is also shared by interleukin 4 (IL-4) and interleukin 7 (IL-7). The expression of the IL-2 gene in mature thymocytes is monoallelic, which represents an unusual regulatory mode for controlling the precise expression of a single gene. The targeted disruption of a gene similar to IL-2 in mice leads to an μgcerative colitis-like disease that suggests an essential role of this gene in the immune response to antigenic stimuli.Specifications
