Description
This kit's five experiments demonstrate the important effects physical parameters such as temperature, pH, salt concentration and dielectric constant have on proteins. Experiments range from the isoelectric precipitation of casein to effects of acetone on solutions of albumin and gelatin.
Kit can be used for following experiments:
- Isoelectric precipitation of casein
- Separation of albumin and gelatin by ammonium sulfate fractionation
- Effects of acetone on albumin and gelatin solution
- Heat denaturation of albumin
- Precipitation of protein by lead acetate
- Grades 9 to 14
- Provides enough materials for 24 students working in groups of three
Contains lead.
