Students examine different brands of shampoo and choose between products based on their own scientific and economic evaluations.

  • Comparisons in this activity include pH, viscosity, percent solids, foam generation, foam retention and ink dispersion
  • Detergent micelles and the hydrophobic and hydrophilic properties of cationic and anionic detergents are investigated
  • Students perform cost analysis on the shampoos
