Description

Rat Monoclonal Antibody

The RB6-8C5 clone has been reported to work in immunohistochemical staining of acetone-fixed frozen sections and zinc-fixed (but not formalin-fixed) paraffin-embedded sections. For FACS analysis, use 10 μL of the suggested working dilution to label 1x10^6 cells in 100 μL. Rat anti Mouse Gr-1 antibody, clone RB6-8C5 recognizes the mouse Gr-1 antigen, a approximately 21-25 kDa GPI anchored cell surface protein bearing a single uPAR/Ly6 domain that belongs to the Ly-6 family of proteins.

Granulocytes are a category of white blood cells characterised by the presence of granules in their cytoplasm. They are also called polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMN or PML) because of the varying shapes of the nucleus, which is usually lobed into three segments. In common parlance, the term polymorphonuclear leukocyte often refers specifically to neutrophil granulocytes, the most abundant of the granulocytes. Granulocytes or PMN are released from the bone marrow by the regulatory complement proteins.
