BODIPY™ FL vancomycin, which contains a single BODIPY™ dye per vancoymycin molecule, is a green-fluorescent analog of this important antibiotic, which is active against gram-positive bacteria, including entereococci.

BODIPY™ FL vancomycin, which contains a single BODIPY™ dye per vancoymycin molecule, is a green-fluorescent analog of this important antibiotic, which is active against gram-positive bacteria, including entereococci. Although its biological activity has not been reported, it may be useful for detecting vancomycin binding sites and transport, for fluorescence polarization assays, and for the study and detection of vancomycin-resistant enterococci.

To make a concentrated stock solution, dissolve in either high quality anhydrous DMSO (1 mM) or H2O (∼60 mM). Store DMSO stock solutions frozen, desiccated and protected from light. Aqueous stock solutions should be used fresh as prolonged storage may result in aggregation.
