Mouse Monoclonal Isotype Control

PA5-33237 is suitable for use as a negative control reagent for the measurement of non-specific binding of mouse monoclonal antibodies of isotype IgG2a in human tissue. This antibody may not be suitable for intracellular staining on some cell types. The antibody recognizes a rat cell surface marker, and therefore cannot be used as a negative control in this species. This product is routinely tested in flow cytometry on rat splenocytes to confirm antibody activity and on human whole blood to test for suitability as a negative control. Test results have shown that PA5-33237 is also suitable for use as a negative control with bovine, ovine, porcine, equine, canine, lapine and guinea-pig tissues. Reconstitute with 1 mL of distilled water. After reconstitution, store product undiluted at 4°C in the dark. For FACS analysis, use 10 μL of the suggested working dilution to label 1x10^6 cells in 100 μL. The recommended shelf-life for this product is 6 months.

Mouse IgG2a is a subtype of immunoglobulin G antibody that is produced by B cells in response to an antigen. It is the second most abundant IgG subtype in the serum and plays a crucial role in the adaptive immune response. Mouse IgG2a is composed of two heavy chains and two light chains, and it is involved in opsonization, complement activation, and antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity. It is also involved in the regulation of immune responses, including the activation of T cells and the inhibition of B cell activation. Mouse IgG2a is widely used in research and diagnostic applications, including ELISA, Western blotting, and immunohistochemistry. It is also used in therapeutic applications, such as immunotherapy and vaccine development.
