Our bioactive Macrophage Colony-Stimulating Factor 1 (M-CSF) Mouse, E. coli Recombinant Protein is a disulfide linked homodimer, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 2 x 156 amino acids and has a total molecular mass of 36.4 kDa. Purity: > 95%. Biological Activity: The ED50, as calculated by the dose-dependant stimulation of the proliferation of murine M-NFS-60 indicator cells is 1.33 ng/ml corresponding to a specific activity of 7.5x105 units/mg. Formulation: lyophilized from a sterile (0.2 µm) filtered solution containing 10mM sodium phosphate, 50mM sodium chloride, pH 7.5. Synonyms: Murine M-CSF, CSF-1, CSF1 gene product, MCSF. Summary: M-CSF is a cytokine that plays an essential role in the regulation of survival, proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic precursor cells, especially mononuclear phagocytes, such as macrophages and monocytes. M-CSF plays a role in immunological defenses, bone metabolism, lipoproteins clearance, fertility and pregnancy.
