R&D Systems™ Mouse Shrew-1/AJAP1 (NP_001092769) VersaClone cDNA
Description
- Ajap1 adherens junction associated protein 1 [ Mus musculus (house mouse) ]
- Also known as: Gm573
- The Shrew-1/AJAP1 insert is sequence verified and the entire plasmid DNA and insert translated sequences are provided.
- AJAP1 is a transmembrane protein found on the basolateral surface of epithelium.
- It is presumably expressed by multiple types of epithelium and participates in cellcell adhesion.
- AJAP1 is an accompanying transmembrane molecule that interacts with Ecadherin and appears to promote the internalization of E-cadherin upon growth factor stimulation.
- This facilitates the dissolution of adherens junctions with an increase in cell motility.
- AJAP1 is also known to complex with CD147 in nonpolar, invasive cells, suggesting that AJAP1 may play a more complex role in cell migration.
- For reasearch use only. Not for use in humans.
