Description

A medium for antimicrobial susceptibility testing by the disc diffusion technique, according to CLSI and EUCAST

  • With increasing antimicrobial resistance, AST of aerobic bacteria becomes more relevant. Mueller Hinton II Agar permits excellent growth of most aerobic bacteria.
  • This medium is formulated to have low levels of thymine and thymidine and is adjusted to the calcium and magnesium ions concentrations.
  • It conforms to Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) and European Committee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (EUCAST) recommendations.
  • Its formulation, with controlled levels of ions (Ca++, Mg++) and low thymine/thymidine, ensures reliable antibiotic diffusion and bacterial growth for accurate susceptibility results.
