Description

The Mystery Density Set With Stand is an experiment of intrigue as students will need to use the scientific method and understanding of density to determine the material of the rods in this set.

  • Students will have to determine what the unknown substance is by taking careful volume and mass measurements in order to calculate density and determine the mystery material.
  • To determine the density of the material the student plots mass versus volume and the slope therefore is the density (mass per unit volume).
  • Students will need to do all measurements themselves so a balance and ruler are required.
