This precision piston pump uses glass detector tubes to accurately and quickly measure over 500 gases and vapors. Each tube contains a reagent that is specifically sensitive to a particular gas or vapor. Break off ends of tube, insert in handheld pump, and pull pump handle out. A precisely measured volume of ambient air is drawn into the tube, reacts with the reagent, and produces a stain that can be read against the calibrations on the tube, like a thermometer. The longer the stain, the higher the concentration.
The springless pump operates on vacuum principle for long-lasting accuracy. Fail-safe handle locks precisely at 50 or 100cc for accurate sample size. A flow finish indicator, conspicuously located in the pump handle, indicates when the tube has completed its reading. High-impact-resistant exterior with synthetic rubber sheath, metal alloy internal cylinder. Features built-in tube tip breaker, carrying case, spare parts, and instructions.
