Description

Alum Adjuvant is insoluble white colloidal suspension of aluminum hydroxide used to potentiate immune response. Antigen adsorbs on the aluminum hydroxide precipitate and when injected form a depot of insoluble antigen at injection site which attracts immune cells and enhance immune response.

  • It is used to raise polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies and is less toxic when compared to Freunds complete adjuvant. Antigen adsorbs on the surface of aluminum adjuvants via hydrophobic and vander waals forces, via electrostatic attraction and by ligand exchange.
  • Aluminum hydroxide is positively charged at pH 6-7.5 and attracts negatively charged protein.
  • OneQuant™ Alum Adjuvants are single use 2 mL aliquots that prevent reagent loss and save time.
