Maintain the fungal stock culture and observe chlamydospore production by Candida albicans with Thermo Scientific™ Oxoid™ Corn Meal Mycological Agar (Dehydrated). Microscopic examination of Candida albicans on this medium shows the characteristic chlamydospore production which is an accepted criterion for the identification of this species. Corn Meal Mycological Agar, being a nutritionally impoverished medium, can be employed for the maintenance of stock cultures of fungi, especially the black pigmented varieties.

Use Corn Meal Mycological Agar for chlamydospore production by Candida albicans for the maintenance of fungal stock cultures.
