Isolate and enumerate lactic acid bacteria from food with Thermo Scientific™ Oxoid™ MRS Agar (DeMan, Rogosa and Sharpe) (Dehydrated). This non-selective medium is designed to support profuse growth of lactic acid bacteria.

Use MRS Agar for enumeration and isolation of mesophilic lactic acid bacteria from food samples. MRS Broth may also be used for tests in the identification of lactobacilli, such as temperature dependence, growth in 4% NaCl, growth in 0.4% Teepol, etc. as recommended by Sharpe, Fryer, and Smith1.
