Description
Paraformaldehyde is used as a fixative in electron microscopy and in the preparation of formalin fixatives for tissues or cells when the samples are to be used in florescence studies. It is also used in manufacturing synthetic resins. It has been used in the past for disinfecting sickrooms, clothing, linen and sickroom utensils, and as a fumigant.
