Thermo Scientific™ BM(PEG)2 (1,8-bismaleimido-diethyleneglycol)
Description
Thermo Scientific™ Pierce BM(PEG)2 is a pegylated crosslinker having the form maleimide-PEG-maleimide for conjugation between sulfhydryl groups (e.g., cysteines) via a two-unit polyethylene glycol (PEG) spacer arm (14.7 Ås).
Highlights:
- Long sulfhydryl-reactive, homobifunctional crosslinker
- Water-soluble
- Polyethylene glycol (PEG) spacer provides increased water solubility, reducing the potential for crosslinker-caused precipitation
- Ideal for small molecule or peptide conjugations
- Reactive groups: maleimide (homobifunctional)
- Reactive toward: sulfhydryl groups
