Description

Short (8.7A) hydroxyl-to-sulfhydryl crosslinker; isocyanate and maleimide groups; label -OH by urethane bonds for conjugation to cysteines by thioether bonds.

Thermo Scientific™ Pierce PMPI is a maleimide-and-isocyanate crosslinker for attaching compounds to sulfhydryl groups (cysteines) after conjugating the linker to hydroxyl groups on a molecule by urethane (carbamate) bonds.

Highlights:

  • Maleimide forms stable thioether linkages
  • Isocyanate reacts with - OH groups to form a carbamate link at pH 8.5
