The MA5-17151 immunogen is purified recombinant fragment of human PIWIL4 (amino acids: 304-434) expressed in E. Coli. MA5-17151 detects PIWIL4 which has a predicted molecular weight of approximately 96.6kDa.

PIWIL4 belongs to the Argonaute family of proteins, which function in development and maintenance of germline stem cells (Sasaki et al., 2003 [PubMed 12906857]).
