Plexin-A1 Polyclonal Antibody, Invitrogen™
Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Supplier: Thermo Scientific PA5143745

Description
The antibody detects a 220 kDa* protein corresponding to the apparent molecular mass of Plexin-A1 on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of neonatal rat brain and Cos-7 cells transfected with mouse Plexin-A1. In immunocytochemistry, this antibody co-localizes with anti-Myc in Cos-7 cells transfected with Myc-tagged mouse Plexin-A1.
Coreceptor for SEMA3A, SEMA3C, SEMA3F and SEMA6D. Necessary for signaling by class 3 semaphorins and subsequent remodeling of the cytoskeleton. Plays a role in axon guidance, invasive growth and cell migration. Class 3 semaphorins bind to a complex composed of a neuropilin and a plexin. The plexin modulates the affinity of the complex for specific semaphorins, and its cytoplasmic domain is required for the activation of down-stream signaling events in the cytoplasm. [UniProt]

Plexin-A1 synthetic peptide (coupled to carrier protein) corresponding to a region within the N-terminal half of the semaphorin domain in human Plexin-A1. This sequence is highly conserved in rat and mouse Plexin-A1, and has low homology to other Plexin family members. | |
