Rabbit Recombinant Monoclonal Antibody

This antibody is predicted to react with Monkey, Rabbit, Pig, Bovine and Rat. Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning in the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Then, individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production. The advantages of using recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies include: better specificity and sensitivity, lot-to-lot consistency, animal origin-free formulations, and broader immunoreactivity to diverse targets due to larger rabbit immune repertoire.

PSA is a chymotrypsin-like serine protease (kallikrein family) produced by the prostate epithelium, and is abundant in seminal fluid. PSA can be detected in the sera of patients with prostatic carcinoma. It is predominantly complexed to a liver-derived serine protease inhibitor, alpha-1-antichymotrypsin (ACT). A higher proportion of serum PSA is complexed to ACT in prostate cancer than in benign prostate hyperplasia. PSA is used to confirm prostatic acinar cell origin in primary and metastatic carcinoma and to rule out non-prostatic carcinoma mimics.
