Accelerated detection and cultivation of Salmonella in dried foods and feeds using M Broth.
- Accelerated Serology Technique: For detection of Salmonella in dried foods and feeds which prevents delayed transportation of bulk feeds to the market place unlike previous methods.
- Recommended by the AOAC International Official Methods of Analysis, and Microbiology Laboratory Guidebook for the detection of Salmonella in foods2-4.
This medium is used for qualitative procedures. This medium contains casein peptone that provides amino acids and nitrogenous compounds necessary for the bacterial growth and yeast extract that provides B-complex vitamins. Mannose is the carbon source and serves to prevent fimbrial agglutination in serological techniques. Polysorbate 80 acts as a surfactant and dispersing agent.
