Cultivate and maintain nonfastidious organisms with nutritious Thermo Scientific™ Remel™ Nutrient Broth (Dehydrated). This is a non-selective medium which was formulated by APHA in 1917 as a standaridized medium for the use in the examination of water, wastewater, dairy products and various foods1. This medium is specified in current compendia of methods for the microbiological examination of stock cultures.

- Nutrient Broth is a general-purpose medium used to subculture organisms for maintenance purposes or to check the purity of subcultures from isolation plates prior to biochemical or serological tests.
- Nutrient Broth is formulated according to the recommendations of APHA and AOAC International (AOAC)2-4.
This medium is used for qualitative procedures. This medium contains beef extract that provides carbohydrates, vitamins, nitrogen compounds, and salts. Gelatin peptone provides nutrients in the form of amino acids and peptides. They are found to be as nutritious as meat infusion.
