Description

Sheep Polyclonal Antibody

This antibody detects both pro and mature forms of human Renin in direct ELISAs and Western blots. In direct ELISAs and Western blots, approximately 20% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse Renin-1 is observed. Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.

Renin is a highly specific endopeptidase, whose only known function is to generate angiotensin I from angiotensinogen in the plasma, initiating a cascade of reactions that produce an elevation of blood pressure and increased sodium retention by the kidney.
