Inhibits DNA-dependent bacterial RNA polymerase. Rifampin, MP Biomedicals is a bactericidal antibiotic drug of the rifamycin group that does not affect mammalian RNA polymerase. It is used to treat Tuberculosis and Tuberculosis-related mycobacterial infec

Mode of Action: Inhibits initiation of RNA synthesis by binding to β-subunit of RNA polymerase. It inhibits the assembly of DNA and protein into mature virus particles.
