Set 2:
Andesite, chalk, coal, diorite, limestone oolithic, microgranite, millstone, schist, thyolite, and trachyte.

Identify forms, colors, refraction and fossil inclusions.

  • Selected rocks and minerals are ground and polished to a thickness of 20 to 30μm
  • Mounted with Canada balsam on 1.77 x 1.89 in. (45 x 48mm) slides
  • Observe with any normal microscope
  • Viewing with polarized light reveals additional detail
