Serotonin, or 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT), is a mono-amine neurotransmitter derived from tryptophan that is responsible for regulation of mood and associated with depression. An agonist for the serotonin (HRT) receptors, it is primarily located in the CNS and GI tract, and modulates physiological functions related to neurotransmission, GI motility, pain perception, hemostasis, hunger, and cardiovascular integrity. Provided as 10 mg of dry powder alongside reconstitution buffer. These highly purified, pre-validated control ligands have been used to qualify our InCELL Hunter,  PathHunter and cAMP Hunter cell lines as well as our Assay Ready Kits.
