PA1-16957 is specific for the ~39 kDa SIRT6 protein. A higher molecular weight band at ~59 kDa may be seen with lower dilutions such as 2 μg/mL. Suggested positive control: antigen standard for SIRT6 (transient overexpression lysate), Hela whole cell extract.

Sirtuins regulate epigenetic gene silencing. SIRT6 (Mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase sirtuin-6), a mouse Sir2 homolog, is a chromatin-associated nuclear ADP-ribosyltransferase protein. It appears to be involved in DNA repair and may also play a role in human aging.
