Evaluate subpopulations of cells undergoing apoptosis, using fluoroscein-labeled annexin V and propidium iodide. Superior to DNA-based assays for the early detection of cells in the apoptic pathway.

  • Double staining procedure distinguishes live, necrotic and apoptotic cells
  • Labeled annexin V can also be used to analyze changes in membrane asymmetry in platelets and erythrocytes
  • Analysis can be performed on any flow cytometer equipped with a single laser using excitation at 488nm
  • Cells can be examined with a fluorescence microscope equipped with filters for discrimination of FITC and rhodamine/PI
  • Individual ApoScreen labeled annexin V reagents
