SRC Recombinant Polyclonal Antibody (14HCLC), Invitrogen™
Rabbit Recombinant Polyclonal Antibody
Supplier: Thermo Scientific 710449
Description
Intact IgG appears on a non-reducing gel as ∽150 kDa band and upon reduction generating a ∽25 kDa light chain band and a ∽50 kDa heavy chain. Recombit rabbit polyclonal antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They are comprised of a selection of multiple different recombit monoclonal antibodies, providing the best of both worlds – the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity of monoclonal antibodies - all delivered with the consistency only found in a recombit antibody. While functionally the same as a polyclonal antibody – recognizing multiple epitope sites on the target and producing higher detection sensitivity for low abundance targets – a recombit rabbit polyclonal antibody has a known mixture of light and heavy chains. The exact population can be produced in every lot, circumventing the biological variability typically associated with polyclonal antibody production.
SRC is a non-receptor kinase involved in the regulation of growth and differentiation of eukaryotic cells. SRC associates with the cytoplasmic region of various cell surface receptors to facilitate signal transduction, and is also involved in cytoskeletal organization, cell cycle regulation, and apoptosis. In humans, the gene encoding SRC is present on chromosome 20. Activity of SRC is regulated by two tyrosine residues (Tyr 416 and Tyr527), and phosphorylation of these two sites have opposing effects. Phosphorylation of Tyr416 in the activation loop of the kinase domain upregulates enzyme activity while the phosphorylation of Tyr527 decreases enzyme activity. Mutations in the SRC gene could be involved in the maligt progression of colon cancer. Two transcript variants encoding the same SRC protein have been found thus far.Specifications
