Description

LC-Diol columns can be used to separate proteins by gel filtration chromatography.

When operated with an aqueous buffer, the diol phase can effectively shield the silica surface from interacting with proteins. A well-known use of diol columns, under normal phase conditions, is the separation of steroids and sterols.
