Use Thermo Scientific™ SureSTART™ 9 mm Screw Caps with screw vials that have a 9 mm opening, including our SureSTART 2 mL Glass Screw Vials, 2 mL Gold-Grade Glass Screw Vials, Total Recovery Glass Screw Microvials for <2 mL samples, 1.7 mL High Recovery Glass Screw Vials, and Glass Screw Microvials for <2 mL samples (Level 3). Select Level 3 products for ultimate performance and sensitivity from your methods, while maintaining the highest levels of sample security and integrity. Choose from polypropylene caps with all-purpose silicone/PTFE septa designed to reduce autosampler needle issues. Pre-slit and bonded septa options are available. Our AVCS™ caps incorporate Advanced Vial Closure System technology to ensure optimal seal compression when closing a vial. Use AVCS screw caps with our SureStop™ vials for effective seals, consistent data, and increased sample throughput.

SureStop Vials & Advanced Vial Closure System (AVCS) Caps:
This patented screw top vial/cap combination features a push-through resistant sealing ring design, controlled septum compression, and SureStop closure positioning flange to ensure an effective seal that eliminates under- and over-sealing, reduces solvent evaporation, and creates less autosampler interruptions. SureStop vials and AVCS caps have universal instrument compatibility for all LC and GC autosamplers. They also contain low leachable levels, making them an ideal alternative to bonded caps for those seeking cleaner spectra.

• Level 1: Everyday analysis

SureSTART Level 1 products are cost optimized, suitable for all instrument types, and quality tested to deliver the performance, sample security, and reproducibility you need for everyday analyses. They are an ideal solution for verifying compound presence and quantification using detection techniques such as UV, RI, and FID.
• Level 2: High-throughput analysis
When robustness and reproducibility are key
SureSTART Level 2 vials have very low metal contents and leachables to ensure that they conform to the high standards you need to meet your regulatory requirements. The septa are conditioned to provide a very low level of chromatographic extractables. These products support routine analyses and deliver high quality data with an uninterrupted workflow.
• Level 3: High performance
When sensitivity is a must
SureSTART Level 3 products are packed in a clean environment according to our own hygiene concept and regulations to protect against contaminating factors. The vials contain the lowest levels of extractable metals and leachables to ensure consistent, reproducible sensitivity and selectivity for the most challenging analytes. Thermo Scientific Advanced Vial Closure System (AVCS) caps are polypropylene caps that are compatible with all 9 mm short thread screw vials, although we recommend that they are used with our Thermo Scientific SureStop vials to get maximum benefit of the two technologies. There is a leveling feature within the AVCS designed caps that provide optimal liquid sealing. The innovative features found on the AVCS cap also give more autosampler compatibility with less autosampler interruptions, as a result of misaligned cap tilting, dislodged septa, or septa push through.
AVCS caps not only have the most effective seal but they also contain significantly less leachables than bonded caps. You'll see a noticeably cleaner spectra when you use SureStop and AVCS as an alternative to bonded caps. The AVCS caps also come with a range of different septa materials.
