Invitrogen™ SYT10 Polyclonal Antibody
Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Supplier: Invitrogen™ PA570844
Description
This target displays homology in the following species: Cow: 79%; Dog: 86%; Guinea Pig: 86%; Horse: 86%; Human: 100%; Mouse: 79%; Rabbit: 86%; Rat: 86%.
SYT10 is a Ca2+ sensor specifically required for the Ca2+-dependent exocytosis of secretory vesicles containing IGF1 in neurons of the olfactory bulb. Exocytosis of IGF1 is required for sensory perception of smell. SYT10 is not involved in Ca2+-dependent synaptic vesicle exocytosis. It acts through Ca2+ and phospholipid binding to the C2 domain: Ca2+ induces binding of the C2-domains to phospholipid membranes and to assembled SNARE-complexes; both actions contribute to triggering exocytosis.
