Tazobactam is a Beta-lactamase inhibitor derived from penicillin. It is used along with Beta-lactam antibiotics, to prevent their degradation by Beta-lactamase enzymes.

Tazobactam is often used with piperacillin to increase its potency. Additionally, tazobactam is used in studies regarding Beta-lactamase and penicillinase inhibition.
