Description
Titanium(IV) bromide is used as a Lewis acid catalyst in organic synthesis. It reacts with tetrahydrofurnan and 2-methylpyridine and forms adducts such as TiBr4(THF)2 and TiBr4(2-MePy). It is also used for the formation of titanium silicide thin films on silicon substrates.
