Description

Endogenous peptide regulator of gastrointestinal motility

Motilin (human, porcine) is an endogenous motilin receptor ligand (Ki = 2.3 nM) that regulates gastrointestinal motor function. Stimulates contraction of gut smooth muscle (EC50 = 1 nM) and increases pepsin release.
