Quantitative Liquid Phase Radioimmunoassay

  • Total Estrogens Double Antibody RIA Kit detects the combined concentrations of unconjugated estradiol (E2) and estrone (E1).
  • Does not detect estrogen sulfates or glucuronides
  • Will not distinguish between free E1 or E2 or E2 bound to circulating binding proteins
  • Total Estrogen measurements are an approximation of plasma estrogenicity since E2 is biologically more active than E1 and the E2/E1 ratio may fluctuate widely under varying physiological and pathological conditions.
