Invitrogen™ TPH2 Polyclonal Antibody
Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Supplier: Invitrogen™ PA1778
Description
PA1-778 detects TPH2 in human, mouse, rat, rabbit and non-human primate samples. PA1-778 has been successfully used in immunocytochemistry, immunoprecipitation, and Western blot procedures. By Western blot PA1-778 detects a 56 kDa protein representing TPH2. The PA1-778 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to the N-terminal region of TPH2.
Tryptophan hydroxylase (TPH) is a member of the pterin-dependent aromatic acid hydroxylase family. It catalyzes the first and rate limiting step in the biosynthesis of serotonin, an important hormone and neurotransmitter. TPH is expressed predominantly in the brain stem. Mutations in this gene may be associated with psychiatric diseases such as bipolar affective disorder and major depression.
