Triton™ X-114 is a surfactant used in industrial and household detergent applications and in emulsifying agents.

  • Triton™ X-114 is used in biochemical applications to solubilize and separate proteins due to its low cloud point (23°C).
  • At temperatures above the cloud point, detergent solutions separate into aqueous and detergent-enriched phases.
  • This makes Triton™ X-114 particularly useful in separating lipophilic proteins from hydrophilic proteins.
