DOTMA Chloride (N,N,N-trimethyl-2,3-bis[(9Z)-9-octadecen-1-yloxy]-1-propanaminium, chloride) is a cationic lipid that is used for liposomal delivery of DNA, RNA, oligonucleotides, and other negatively charged large biomolecules. DOTMA Cl imparts a positive charge to the surface of liposomes which promotes efficient interaction with the negatively charged cell membrane. Key application(s): mRNA vaccine, DNA and RNA transfection, oligonucleotide delivery
