Diuron-d6 is a deuterium-labeled form of Diuron, an orally active phenylurea herbicide. It functions by inhibiting photosynthesis in plants, specifically by blocking the formation of ATP and NADH. Diuron-d6 also increases the production of Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) and the expression of p53 in certain cell lines, and has shown herbicidal activity against various broadleaf and grass weeds. It has been noted to promote bladder cancer in some studies and is applicable in breast cancer research.
