SGC3027 is a histone methyltransferase inhibitor and is identified as the first potent, selective, and cell-active chemical probe for PRMT7. It acts as a pro-drug of SGC8158, releasing its active component upon reduction by reductases within the cell. In cellular assays using C2C12 cells, SGC3027 inhibits the methylation of HSP70 with an IC50 of 1.3 μM.
